the challenge

Love Always specializes in stylized custom illustrations featuring the bride in her wedding dress.

The client, Lindsey, originally launched her business in Chicago and has since relocated to Orange County, California, so her brand needed a complete makeover to fit her new market. She wanted her brand to be modern and elegant, but wanted to avoid it looking too "flowery" and "stereotypical wedding."

The Solution

While developing the logo, I kept Lindsey's artistic style in mind. I wanted the mark to feel modern yet hand-drawn like her illustrations.

Also, with the fast-paced culture of Los Angeles and Orange County, her brand needed to be simple enough to grab a potential customer's attention in a moment. Thus the logo would have to be clear and make it's point instantly.

The Logo

The construction of the logo leaned toward simplicity, finding a modern and elegant root without being flowery.

We agreed that printing the logo in gold foil would be a great fit for the target market. This fulfills two of our core purposes: to catch one's attention and to communicate elegance to a high-end market.

THE COLOR SCHEME

The combination of gold against white helped enhance the brand's identity specifically for a wedding market. The white backdrop repeats the theme of highlighting the bride's dress. The gold communicates the elegance of the brand and is reminiscent of the wedding ring. The dark grey stands out from the white and gold so that text is clear, while maintaining simplicity and elegance without detracting attention from the gold foil.
